Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Plano, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Texas run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Plano is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Plano is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is our favorite sushi place. We come here every Friday and the food is great. The staff is friendly and helpful and we are always happy when we are done. Highly recommended. I added a picture of the oranges that you get with your check because we are all the food.

Visited Densetsu Japanese Restaurant in Plano with my family over Motherβs Day weekend. The restaurant was absolutely packed, which speaks to its popularity, and our waiter was one of the highlights of the experience, patient, attentive, and provided great customer service despite the high volume. The menu is extremely extensive, which can be overwhelming for a first time visitor trying to decide what to order. We started with the teriyaki chicken appetizer, but it was disappointing. The menu described it as marinated in teriyaki sauce, however the sauce came on the side in a small cup and the chicken tasted more like overly fried chicken nuggets than authentic teriyaki chicken. I ordered the soft shell crab tempura roll. The portion size was very generous, but unfortunately the crab did not taste fresh and had an odd aftertaste that threw the entire roll off for me. My sister ordered the udon noodles and barely touched them because she felt the broth was just average and lacked flavor. My son ordered the teriyaki chicken entrΓ©e and it came with far more peppers and onions than actual chicken. One additional thing to note, the establishment no longer has its alcohol license, so

My partner and I live nearby and drive by often, so we decided to stop in for our date night this evening. The place was tiny but cozy, and we were seated and taken care of promptly. I got gyoza and Katsu Don, and my partner got a Charashi Bowl and Red Clam sushi. The gyoza Iβd say was above average and pleasantly crispy. The provided salad was pleasant with a strong citrusy ginger flavor. The Red Clam sushi had wasabi hidden underneath the meat, so keep that in mind if youβre a spice baby like myself. My partner described the Charashi bowl as good, especially for the price. My Katsu Don is where I felt everything fell a little flat. It was overly sweet, the rice underneath tasted a bit stale and like nothing, and the katsu itself was a bit too moist and no longer crispy on the outside. However, I must note that it was an impressive $13, when I feel the usual is more like over $20, for a decent amount. The waitstaff brought us these lovely pre-peeled and cut oranges with the check and they were a nice touch to the meal. Overall we had a decent, pleasant experience here!

Itβs a decent choice for basic Japanese food. We visit Dallas a couple times a year to see family and this place is near our house so for an easy take out meal, I feel like weβve ordered it once each time. Thereβs a lot of rice on the rolls. But they do a good job with the filling. The grilled yellowtail collar is a great deal at $11. The katsudon and oyakodon are pretty decent. Only gripe from this last order is the way they packaged the salmon skin salad. They put the hot salmon skin on the salad so by the time I got it, the salad was wilted. The salmon skin was also pretty burnt. I didnβt eat 80% of this dish. So maybe donβt order this.

I liked the food and they served generous portions It is a nice, casual spot with a great atmosphere, making it a perfect neighborhood gem for anyone looking to try quality Japanese cuisine. We tried the Angry John roll, Tiger roll, California roll along with Miso soup, tempura shrimp and Edamame. At the end they gave us peeled oranges which was nice.
